In order to register your yacht in Cayman Island, we do not need any survey reports and the documentation is very simple:
We need a copy of the vessel’s Bill of Sale, notarised or bearing company seal; If the vessel is NEW, we need a Builder’s Certificate, notarised or bearing seal or stamp of yard.
Certificate of Good Standing for the owning company (current within three months). If the company is incorporated in the Cayman Islands within the same year of the registration, a copy of the Certificate of Incorporation is sufficient. If the owner is an individual (or joint owners), we will need a notarised copy of his/her passport;
We need a Closed Transcript or Deletion Certificate if the vessel was registered somewhere else before.
The certificates and documents required to be carried onboard ships will depend on the size of vessel, type of vessel, its use, number of persons, etc. We will let you know after receiving your initial online form, what we require for your specific vessel. In most cases a prior Certificate of Survey is fine, as long as it was issued by the classification Societies authorized by the Cayman Maritime authority.
We can register your vessel and / or arrange your MMSI license.
We have a highly experienced team who deal with the Cayman Island registrations.
